The PS2 Castlevania game hit Lament of Innocence has made its way to the Playstation Network today under the classic section for just under 10 bucks

I definitely remember this one. Once I had heard that a new Castlevania game called Lament of Innocence was fixing to land on the PS2, I knew I had to have it. Even though at the time, I too was one of the people that didn't care much for the prospect of having Castlevania land smack in the middle of a 3D universe. In the end I accepted the premise of it, and after having played it first hand, I was satisfied as I wanted to be.

The series has come a long way since then, and the majority out there has likely acknowledged that you can have your cake and eat it too. Well your fixing to get a second helping, and this time Lament of Innocence has now landed on the Playstation Network as a classic title. Classic already? Where has the time gone? Into playing this hit again for the price of just under 10 bucks, $9.99. Will Curse of Darkness be next? Perhaps if we are lucky and Konami sees fit to deliver it. For those of you who aren't quite familiar with LOI, here is the summary.

"Konami’s famed vampire hunting series makes its debut on the PlayStation 2 with Castlevania: Lament of Innocence. It tells the story of the Belmont family’s first encounter with the dark lord Dracula, and connects the lineage of previous Belmont adventurers. Gameplay blends the series’ trademark 2D whip-cracking and platforming elements with a new detailed 3D environment."

Oh here is what would really be nice. An ultimate Castlevania game collection in HD, right? Think about one for a second Konami. Every single game from the series, all wrapped up in a nice Blue-Ray disc, and in high definition. Here is hoping my overinflated dream stops being a dream and comes to reality. Oh and don't forget to check out one my favorite tunes from LOI, that being Ghostly Theater. You'll love the soundtrack.
